Mother’s Basement and Tenleid at Nadeshicon!
Anime Pope and notorious Canadian anituber, Geoff Thew is well-known for his in-depth, analytical approach to anime, especially when it comes to opening sequences. More recently, he has taken it upon himself to raise awareness for various problems anime characters face by releasing a series of Public Service Anime; you may want to give them a look, else you may never see the danger coming.
His partner both in life and in creation, Tenleid has been using her seamstress skills for cosplay for over 6 years now. A character one day, another the next, her hands always seem to be at work creating her next outfit. Best known for her cosplays from the Persona series and DC comics, she helps Geoff run his Youtube channel when she’s not busy making anime real.
Come meet them at Nadeshicon, and maybe even get the blessing of the Anime Pope alongside his autograph!
You may find Mother’s Basement’s and Tenleid’s respective bios in the Guests section.
Arnie Roth is going to be at Nadeshicon!

Don’t miss this chance to meet one of the great minds who bring our beloved fantasy worlds to life!

Nunumi to guest at Nadeshicon!
Christine Dallaire-Dupont, also known as Nunumi, is an artist who has worked on numerous animated productions created here. Her self-published comic, Sky Rover, was chosen as Jury Selection in the Manga category of the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival, which led her to tour all over Japan to give conferences and workshops on her art.
Now back to cold and icy Canada, she will be hosting various panels and workshops at Nadeshicon to share her experience, both the one in Japan and the one she has acquired pen in hand. Don’t forget to bring your drawing supplies and scissors to the workshops, and who knows, you may win a one year license for Clip Studio Paint!
You may find Nunumi’s bio in the Guests section.
Deadline for panel submissions!
You have until 11:59pm on March 1st to send us your panel submissions! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to present just what made Made in Abyss win the title of Anime of the Year 2017, or, on the contrary, why other nominees should have instead claimed this title. Or maybe you aren’t one for such heated debates, and would rather share obscure yet delicious Asian recipes with other cooking enthusiasts; that’s fine too, just let us have a taste!
Flea market back for another year!
Are the folks over at the apartment under yours growing tired of your poor manga library creaking in the dead of the night? Or maybe the narrow pathway between your figurine displays can only be narrowed down so much still? Or maybe, like a poet leaving a book on a park bench, you want to pass your favorite anime DVD on to a new owner so that they, too, can in turn fall in love with it?
The flea market is at your service! Come deposit the items you wish to sell during the festival, along with the price you wish to ask for them, and we will take care of it! Always filled to the brim with pearls of every kind, the market profits from constant traffic, making it ideal for you to sell your used geek and anime goods!
Do take note that we will be taking a 20% cut on sold items, so be sure to decide on a price with that in mind. You will also be able to fetch your unsold items back, free of charge.
If you intend on selling multiple items, you may fill this Excel document ahead of time and bring it with you along with your items to make it easier on our staff to add them to our inventory!
Doll Dammaj Cosplay at Nadeshicon!
Made up of DaMaaj Cosplay and Kaoru Doll Cosplay, Doll Damaaj Cosplay has been a highlight of masquerades all over since 2015. Experiments and challenges being their daily bread, they take on every new project from a different angle, either it be a new technique, a new material, a new style of choreography, or, more often than not, all of the above.
Talented yet down to earth, they enjoy sharing tips and tricks with fellow cosplayers, and discussing just about anything, so don’t be shy and go up to them!
You may find their bio in the Guests section.

- Taser guns, brass knuckles, truncheons, nunchakus, pepper spray or any other object forbidden by law;
- Excessively large, long or heavy accessories may be confiscated, if considered dangerous by the security;

CelticSakura and Mathi Cosplay, Team Canada for the 2018 WCS, will be at Nadeshicon!
Known together as Voodoo Cherry, the two cosplayers only started teaming up back in 2016. Quite the alliance, the team would go on to win the Canadian preliminaries for World Cosplay Summit the next year, and will be flying over to Nagoya, Japan, this summer for the big event! Come cheer them on before they leave to compete with other amazing cosplayers from around the world!
